Dr. Tanjir Rashid Soron
I am a psychiatrist, researcher and entrepreneur based in Bangladesh. My work brings together clinical psychiatry, global eHealth, participatory research and entrepreneurship. Across these roles, my purpose remains the same: to reduce the mental health treatment gap and make care more accessible for people who are often left outside formal systems of support.
I provide both online and in-person psychiatric services. I am also working to develop an intelligent and proactive digital mental health ecosystem that can reach people beyond the clinic - especially those living in remote areas and socioeconomically vulnerable.
My research and innovation work are guided by user-centered, participatory and universal design. I believe communities should not only receive services or act as the research participants; they should help shape the research questions, design the interventions, test the solutions, interpret the findings and receive the benefit from the outcomes. My creative design work grows from the same philosophy. I try to bring Bengali culture, color, everyday stories in global fashion market with the support and active engagement of the person with lived experience.
Four Key Areas of My Work
An integrated approach to advancing mental health and human flourishing
Practicing Psychiatrist
Love to deliver empathetic evidence based care.
Mental distress is not a weakness, and seeking help is not a failure. I provide psychiatric consultation for adults and families who are experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, behavioural addictions, stress-related difficulties and other mental health concerns. Care is available through online consultation and in-person appointments in Dhaka, depending on clinical need and suitability.

Research & Programs
Research creates new possibilities for care, especially for those most underserved.
My research works and programs also focus on the same goal to increase the access to mental health: how can evidence-based mental health care reach people who are often excluded from formal systems of support? I work with multidisciplinary teams, communities, people with lived experience, health workers, policymakers and technology partners to co-develop, implement and evaluate mental health interventions in real-world settings. My core research values are equity, scientific integrity, respect for lived experience, contextual understanding and practical usefulness. A study should not end only in a publication; its main objective is strengthening systems, developing services, increase capacity and show the future pathways for care and scale.

LIVE LIFE for Suicide Prevention in Bangladesh: Responsible Media Reporting
Mental illness touches one in five people in Bangladesh. Most never receive any care.
Stigma, distance, and cost keep millions from getting the help they need in urban slums, in climate-displaced communities, in households where the word "psychiatrist" has never been spoken.
My work, the research, the platforms, the clinical practice, is driven by one belief: that quality mental healthcare should reach everyone, not just those who can afford it or access it easily.
